Entrepreneurial Leadership is designed to help students learn three unique approaches to business growth: entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, and non-profit creation. Topics include business plan development, market analysis, business models, funding, intellectual property, sales, marketing, and personnel.
This course is a competency-based course with an experiential emphasis. The student is required to demonstrate proficiency in counselling concepts and techniques that align with a variety of theoretical approaches which are all fundamental to understanding and modeling a therapeutic counselling relationship. These basic skills will be practiced and applied in a one-week on-campus intensive. This requirement may be waived and Advanced Standing awarded for graduates of Kingswood’s undergraduate Christian Counselling program who satisfactorily completed a counselling-based Supervised Ministry Experience. Determination will be made on a case-by-case basis.
This course focuses on improving written communication skills. Students will learn how to read critically, develop research skills, and apply the principles of effective writing to create thesis-centered expository and argumentative prose.
This course helps prepare students for success as an online student. It is required for all students before taking their first online course through Kingswood Extended.
This course is designed to assist students in using the Bible, other tools, and practical methods in leading people to Christ. The effective use of follow-up methods is also explored.
This course provides a survey of the history of the Christian Church from its birth to the present day in the context of world history. Attention is given to how the past impacts present and future ministry.
This course is an interdisciplinary Bible-related course designed to assist students in the development of a theological understanding of worship and of corporate worship, considering biblical precedents and historical practices for maximum Kingdom impact in the 21st century church. It also provides opportunity for future worship leaders, pastors, and church leaders to learn how to plan and guide the worship ministry in the local church and other venues.
This course studies the biblical mandate, history, current realities, breadth, and challenges of Christian discipleship. Emphasis is placed on studying the ‘best practices’ of those churches which take seriously their responsibility to facilitate Christian discipleship.

This course explores all aspects of the adolescent spiritual journey. This course will explore adolescent questions that will equip students to accompany young people well on their journey of faith.
Ministry responsibilities have a way of demanding all of our attention and energy. As spiritual caregivers, therefore, it is especially important that we understand the value of our own spiritual walk—“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit” (Gal. 5.25 NIV). To that end, the Ministry Placement assignments also incorporate an intentional use of the means of grace.
This course will examine Human and Spiritual formation from a clinical and counselling perspective, using human developmental theory with Christian formational principles and practices. This course will study and show how formation continues throughout life but is greatly influenced at the early stages of human development. This course requires: applying and demonstrating your understanding of human and spiritual development, the structure and process of a counselling session, and intervention of appropriate practice of formation through a case study format. A description of your own personal and developmental story, identifying how life span experiences with specific spiritual practices formed you into the person you are today will be one of the case studies submitted for evaluation.
This course is a generic placeholder for practicums which will be replaced by a specific course when the student contract is approved. Practicum assignments are designed to allow students to integrate classroom learning and practical ministry.
Participant will assist the camp director in the execution of camp activities. Possible roles would or may include functioning as Camp Director of Counsellors, Camp Recreation Director, Camp Chaplain, or similar responsibility. This role must entail significant levels of responsibility.
This course studies the real-life work and responsibilities of the pastor (except preaching). Students are exposed to both the ‘up-front/public’ ministries of a pastor, as well as the ‘behind-the-scenes’ responsibilities. Many practical areas of pastoral ministry are explored through lecture, demonstration, practice, and visits to local churches.
This course allows students to integrate and apply in a working preaching/teaching model the principles, insights and skills they have learned in each of the M.A. courses.
This course is a study of the behaviour of organisms from the simple stimulus/response mechanism to the human mind in its reactions to conditions and environment.
This course is designed to provide the student with a basic understanding of abnormal human behavior. Models of abnormal behavior, methods of classification of mental disorders and approaches to treatment of these disorders will be discussed.
This course is where students report participation in the required spiritual formation activities each week.
This course lays the foundation of a firm belief in the Christian religion. It introduces the student to the basic doctrines of the Bible and furnishes evidence which supports the divine origin of the doctrines, morals, and institutions of Christianity.
This course offers an intensive study of Christian perfection from a Wesleyan perspective in its biblical, doctrinal, historical, and practical aspects.
