This course is a competency-based course with an experiential emphasis. The student is required to demonstrate proficiency in counselling concepts and techniques that align with a variety of theoretical approaches which are all fundamental to understanding and modeling a therapeutic counselling relationship. These basic skills will be practiced and applied in a one-week on-campus intensive. This requirement may be waived and Advanced Standing awarded for graduates of Kingswood’s undergraduate Christian Counselling program who satisfactorily completed a counselling-based Supervised Ministry Experience. Determination will be made on a case-by-case basis.
