This course is an introduction to Global and Intercultural Ministry. Our world has become a “global village,” and it is vital that Christian leaders demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to diverse cultures worldwide and in North America. Consequently, this course will explore both the challenge of understanding and of appreciating other cultures; and with the intention toward communicating the gospel more effectively—regardless of one’s geographical location. This course will integrate missiological concepts and principles with personal application and insights for ministry. Through the teaching and learning experiences of this course, the student will be exposed to and hopefully acquire basic tools (i.e., attitudes, knowledge, and skills) for effective intercultural relationships and Christian ministry.
This course is an overview of the Old Testament that aims to familiarize students with the over-arching story of the Bible as seen through the Old Testament. This course will give attention to the Torah (first five books of the OT), the history of the nation of Israel until the time of the second Temple, the major and minor prophets, and poetry and wisdom literature. Challenges relating to its proper understanding and application will be explored.

This course introduces the student to basic principles of church leadership, church management and parliamentary law. Through reading, observation, and reflection the student will be prepared spiritually and practically to provide leadership in a local church.
An introduction to hermeneutics (the art of biblical interpretation) through the study of the principles of induction, the development of inductive skills, and the use of various reference tools which are applied to specific books of the Bible.
The purpose of this course is to give the student an insight into the first five books of the Old Testament, and to see how the message of these five books is definitive for the rest of Scripture.
This course is designed for the personal and spiritual growth of the minister, exploring the biblical and historical foundations of the spiritual life, as well as methodologies and resources for developing Christian spirituality in the lives of others in cooperation with the work of the Holy Spirit. This course should enhance the student's ability to see the relationship between spirituality and ministry, and to discover principles for the enrichment of their own spirituality and to help Christian disciples grow in their relationships with Christ.
This course equips students with a biblical, ethical, and practical framework for pastoral counseling. It integrates theological principles, psychological insights, and practical skills to address spiritual, relational, and emotional growth in a counseling context. Students will develop core competencies for effective counseling that is biblically sound and rooted in prayerful reliance on the Holy Spirit.

This course will teach you the joy of getting into the Bible for yourself. Effective Bible study requires a method. Bible Study Methods will give the student an opportunity to learn how to approach the study of the Bible - not just for information - but with two ultimate goals. Goal #1: to fall in love with the Author of the Bible. Goal #2: to experience positive life-change, both in your life personally and in the lives of those you teach or lead.
The Pastoral Ministries course will provide a survey of the tasks which accompany pastoral ministry in a local church setting. Emphasis will be placed on pastors as persons as well as the competencies needed for contemporary ministry
This course will examine persons and events that shaped the origins and development of The Wesleyan Church, plus help the student develop a working knowledge of The Discipline of The Wesleyan Church as a tool for church administration.

This course will provide a general overview of Church history from the end of Acts to the time of John Wesley, highlighting the formation of the Early Church, the early Christian creeds, and the Protestant Reformation. A closer look will be taken at the life and ministry of John Wesley, along with the developments that have led to the Wesleyan Church today. We will also gain a working knowledge of the content of the Discipline of the Wesleyan Church and understand how to use it in church ministry and governance.
The breadth of one’s ministry to others will correspond wit the depth of one’s relationship with God. This is a 3 week mini-course on the things that build a strong spiritual foundation, such as devotional study, prayer, worship, solitude, rest, exercise, service, witness, and fasting.
