HIX 3012 General Church History (Self-Paced)
Church History provides a survey of the history of the Christian Church from its birth to the present day in the context of world history. Our focus in this course will be to trace ways that Christianity has both confronted and adopted the prevailing culture as followers of Christ have sought to be “in but not of the world." Attention is given to how the past impacts present and future ministry.
HIX 4012 Wesleyan History & Discipline (Self-Paced)
This course is an introduction to the Discipline and a survey of the historical development of The Wesleyan Church. The student will be introduced to the doctrines, standards, practices and procedures that govern the church and the theological, historical, and sociological factors which have shaped the development of the denomination.
PMX 3012 Introduction to Homiletics (Self-Paced)
Homiletics is that branch of practical theology dealing with the art of preaching and delivering sermons. This course will cover the basic mechanics essential to that task. It is recognized that a proper methodology apart from what William E. Sangster called, “the plus of the Spirit” degenerates into professionalism. On the other hand, to avow a pious reliance on the Holy Spirit apart from considerable hours of study and careful thought is generally a shabby excuse for laziness. The preacher’s responsibility is to make the gospel as clear and winsome as possible. This lofty goal can only be realized by combining the meticulous mechanics of sermon preparation with “the plus of the Holy Spirit” in the selection of the theme, in the organization of the material, in the presentation in the pulpit, and in the response of the participants.
BTX 2042 True^North: Inductive Bible Study (Self-Paced)
This course introduces the basic principles of inductive Bible study. Emphasis is also placed on identifying, understanding, and interpreting the various types of literature found in the Bible.
NT 312 PLA Greek for Everyone I
A study of “Koine” Greek, the form of the Greek language used in the New Testament. Basic Greek vocabulary and grammar will be taught and applied to the translation of selected New Testament texts. This online course is built around Biblingo software.
OT 312 PLA Hebrew for Everyone I
An introduction to the Hebrew alphabet, basic vocabulary, grammar, and syntax, the language in which the majority of the Old Testament was written. The language will be explored as much as possible with the biblical text. This online course is built around Biblingo software.
CEX 4012 Church Leadership and Management (Self-Paced)
This course will introduce the student to basic principles of church leadership, church management, and parliamentary law. Through reading, observation, and reflection, the student will be prepared spiritually and practically to provide leadership in a local church.

Supervised Ministry Experience
Students will demonstrate competence in practical ministry in a ministry context through supervised ministry experience. This will prepare the process of becoming an Ordained Minister.
