Testimony Basics

View

As we learned in the introductory video to this lesson, a personal testimony can be the most important element in sharing the plan of salvation.  We'll cover the plan of salvation more thoroughly in the next lesson, but for now our focus is to become more familiar with the characteristics and structure of a testimony.

ABCD: A Helpful Acronym

Acronyms can be helpful mechanisms for memorization by simplifying complex information into a more manageable and memorable format. By condensing concepts into a short phrase or word, it is easier to remember and/or recall. Hover over the letters below to reveal what the ABCD acronym represents.

A Helpful Structure

While there is not a singular method to sharing your personal testimony, it can be helpful to keep a basic structure in mind to assist you with articulating it. Consider the parts below:

  • (Optional) Introduction
  • Life before Christ
  • Turning point / Accepting Christ
  • Life after Christ
  • (Optional) Conclusion
